Our Story – From Our Family to Yours
I am the third generation of sheepskin specialists, carrying forward over 60 years of expertise in sheepskins and Uggs in Australia.
I grew up in the 1980s in Hobart, Tasmania, surrounded by my parents’ Ugg boot and sheepskin store on Constitution Dock. I received my first sheepskin at birth in 1984, and 42 years later, it now sits on my son’s floor, keeping him warm as he plays.
Growing up among shelves and boxes filled with soft, luxurious fur inspired me to share the comfort, beauty, and quality of Australian sheepskin with families everywhere. From birth and beyond, I want every child and family to experience the natural warmth, hypoallergenic benefits, and timeless luxury of sheepskin.
The name KOALY came to life when I asked my four-year-old son what we should name a sheepskin bear I held in my hands. He simply said, “Koaly.” From that moment, my vision grew creating a brand that brings a little piece of Australia to your home, thoughtfully designed for comfort, quality, and lasting memories.
Each sheepskin is more than a product, it is a keepsake, a cherished companion that will hold memories of your little one for a lifetime. My promise is to provide you with premium, chemical-safe luxury sheepskins. Our father Bill, 3 generations, 50 years of specialising in sheepskins in Australia.
Our father started selling sheepskins on the side of the road in 1966 in Sweden and Australia. His parents had also delved into sales of skins also and later his brother. Dad became highly successful in retail for sheepskins and Uggs throughout Australia and to this day has a large retail store in Queensland Australia.

Here, you see my first sheepskin, gifted to me from my parents store in Hobart in 1984. Today, you see the quality and longevity of Australian sheepskin. Unique and like no other sheepskin around the world.
Now, my son uses this sheepskin for his play rug.
